HGBF 1/144 Gundam Tryon 3 Review

WARNING: The following review is a review of three units. Hell yeah, I said: THREE UNITS!!! And using Power Rangers magic I will turn it into a single unit.

Saikyo Kido!!! TRYON 3!!!!
I'm doing a quadruplet review. With the first line, Gundam The End. The second, third, and fourth line will be these try machines. A reasonable model for 350K as a price, and I also got a card for it's the exclusive first release. Hell, didn't even need it, but it's there.

So to start, Tryon 3 is based on ZZ Gundam. It's basically the same, because: Both Tryon 3 and ZZ Gundam is made of three separate components. Sadly that the plastic mold is still ZZ's and the only thing that's new are the lion, the manta ray head&tail, and the eagle head.

-Riku Tryon-

The first try machine, RM-01 Riku Tryon. This lion is primarily piloted by Sakai Minato, as well as the combined form. Weapons wise, it has the Double Cannonade and Choho Pressure (that's only usable after combination). Well, the Wiki says there's Whisker Vulcans on the slits of the head, but nah....

Front and rear view of Riku Tryon. Gimmicks include opening mouth and Cannonade swiveling. The tail can also swing forward to conceal the tail when combining. Each feet can move respectively backwards and forwards. Except I broke the Cannonade peg and I have to cement it three times.

-Umi Tryon-

Nah, this isn't Umi Sonoda from Love Live of course. If her figma's ever released, I'll put her atop the Umi Tryon's back. I swear. Second try machine, RM-02 Umi Tryon is an amphibic unit capable of flight. It barely resembled a manta ray, though.

Rear view. Again, I broke a Heat Wing and I have to cement it three times, and it loosens. F#@k the plastic.

Some say it's a crab, but since when crabs have tails?!

-Sora Tryon-

No my friend, this isn't Sora Aoi from Aki Sora, again. I stopped watching teh series because I quickly ran out of mental point and went crazy, then picked up a gun and summoned a raging but idiot Persona. Third try machine, RM-03 Sora Tryon. This is the most bad design for a hawk, and it really doesn't resemble one. The design sucks, but at least it can still form the waist and legs.

Unrelated Note: After watching Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls, I quickly drained my mental point to 0. And I've spent the holiday playing Modern Warfare 3's Survival Mode with big guns that deal serious damage whilst imagining the anime itself, ranting like Adolf Hitler.

Rear view. It lacked tails only.

These claws are movable respectively. These are the Raptor Breakers used to grab an opponent if the Tryon 3's kick reaches an opponent. It could also crush the opponent easily.

Bird's eye view on a bird. At least the wings looked darn neat.

-Combination Sequence-

No jokes for 350K, they DO really combine! Totally worth 6 hours of assembling and spacing out!!

Combination sequence requires these parts. Right parts (4 pieces) goes to the feet to give them some shape/dimension, while the left parts (2 pieces) goes to the torso as arm connectors.

Sora Tryon forms the waist. I didn't take much picture, but at least you get the main idea, right?

Umi Tryon forms the overall torso.  That blu-tack on the left heat wing was there to hold it in place even after cemented.

Riku Tryon forms the backpack and chest. Here, Riku Tryon can now use the Choho Pressure attack whose roar confines it's preys inside an energy sphere.

-Saikyo Kido: Tryon 3!-

Damn, son, your elbow's in the photoshoot! Anyway, here it is!! The most powerful Gundam in the history, Tryon 3! The secret? Here: Each try machine's generators count as normal mobile suit generators. When they combine, all three generators will be linked and thus gives it the largest energy reserves amongst all Gundams. It also has seemingly infinite power in Sakai's hands.

Some more facts: All three machines before combination are piloted by a single man each. So, when the combination sequence begins, as per the tournament rules, it's considered as a single unit, and will be primarily piloted by Sakai Minato himself. One that controls it must be highly skilled, because he/she will face three enemies on his/her own or even a large mobile armor.

Unrelated Note #2: I regained my mental points after watching some Hitler parodies with my friend, played Sleeping Dogs and went killing the enemy triads as if the enemy I saw were the characters in Hyakka Ryouran Samurai (mostly women). Did refreshed myself though.

-Front&Rear View-

-Articulations-

All sucked, all 90 degrees for such bulky body. Waist can't rotate as good because of the side skirts. But damn, cheer up. At least each legs can rotate 360 degrees full.

-Armaments-

To begin this section, we start with... Armed Booster!! These are my most favorite weapons in the show, it can even repel Try Burning's Seiken Zuki! It could even launch the target several meters away!

Continued by the Heat Wing, these are the wings on each arms that heats up and slices through any opponent MS easily.

Next, is the Raptor Breakers. They can really grapple another HG, but it affects on the Gundam's balance.

Moving on to Double Cannonade. Riku Tryon's armament, it flips up and plain fires straightaway. Problem is, I broke the peg so I have to move it really slow and sluggish. The beam saber there also counts as a weapon, also comes with respective beam effects.

Here's my other favorite-Boomerang Stagger!! Put away the anttena, and use the trigger hand to hold it, and there is Sakai going to cripple Sekai by attacking his back. Respectively Tryon 3 can still use the high mega cannon on it's forehead.

This is the Liger Glare. The eyes fire a spiralling beam colored pink and blue. Riku Tryon's loud roar here also counts as a weapon, the Choho Pressure.

Lastly, the penultimate weapon of ages... Hyper Minovsky Chohoken..!!! The biggest sword one Gundam can handle ever, it even exceeded a HG 1/144 Tactical Arms in fact!! The only contra is the massive weight, it cannot be held by one hand.

That's it for now, because I can't take any more photoshoots. And I just broke the left heat wing for the last time... for f#@k's sake!!! Next photoshoots can be seen at the next post(s). See you in another field where we can fight using our own models.
