SD Sangokuden Ryofu Tallgeese Review

Probably gonna be a short review because there's not gonna be much to talk about an old SD kit which was actually my dream Sangokuden kit since I was still in junior high. But I'll tell you what, for those of you who have played Dynasty Warriors, this guy is your biggest nightmares of all time. (because Ryofu is Lu Bu in Japanese)

Front&Rear View

As every Sangokuden kits (well, not for all of them) and Legend BB kits, Ryofu features a chromed out purple horn with a nicely done plating. It's a fingerprint magnet though. The shoulder pieces are also chromed out in gold plating.

It's not visible to the camera, but this guy had a pair of menacing cartoony eyes beneath that green visor. Ryofu's actor is the Tallgeese from Gundam Wing.

Accessories&Comparison

Uploading these pics had made itself stupid so I gotta combine this section. Well, for weapons you'll only get Ryofu's trademark giant halberd and another set of holding hand and an open hand. To equip Ryofu with the halberd you gotta separate the blade from its handle and feed the handle through the hand before re-attaching it.

For comparison, here he is with Star Winning Gundam. As you can see, being the fearsome Lu Bu he is, of course he's gonna be taller than most SD kits out there.

Beefy Stuff

The halberd won't count in what comes along with Ryofu once you assembled him together. These two are the beefy stuff included, and loaded with gimmicks. Well, these things also beefs up the overall price-I got this for IDR 325k at my local hobby store.

First, we have the Sekitoba, basically Date Masamune's horse with actual exhausts. This thing's even got an engine in it! And this can turn into a damn motorbike, too... most of the accents and the eyes are stickers.

In horse form, simply put Ryofu above the saddle and he can ride the Sekitoba into battle. I've shown it in the review's start.

... like so. Above the front legs are the engines, if you can see them.

To have Ryofu sit on the motorbike, you have to replace the back skirt to its back, forming some sort of collar and making clearance, also revealing a slot to plug his butt into the seat.

And here we have him riding the Sekitoba motorbike. He looks pretty badass, though. Although, motorbikes are really out of place for a series that takes place during the Romance of the Three Kingdoms..

Forgot to mention that a clear impact effect part is also inlcuded. Not gonna bother showing it though since it's just a piece of plastic you'll be putting in front of the halberd to make it look as Ryofu shatters the earth with his halberd.

And last but not least we have the Tengyokugai Douko, the large bird thingy which was based off of the Dendrobium. Douko, this configuration, is meant for Ryofu. Basically these can be turned into various other things, but I'll save it for next time.

It's so sticker-heavy, but every SD kits do that for a positive purpose.

Included is also a small dragon ornament for you to place in the Tengyokugai, Meant not for Ryofu.

Put him above and you have it. It's as simple as that. Too bad this thing didn't have anywhere to plug in an action base. Same goes for the Sekitoba.

Pros:

-Instructions are fkking huge as a map (I've lost it now tho)
-Includes beefy stuff
-He's Lu freaking Bu
-Taller than a normal SD kit
-Stickerheavy with a good purpose

Cons:

-None really
-Sekitoba and Tengyokugai has no action base holes

Verdict

In the end, I can't say much for this old kit, which was basically like 4 or 5 years old now. This one was a Bandai re-release, and the price kinda increases when it comes to such because Bandai won't go for a lot of re-releases.

If you're a fan of SD kits, you should definitely pick this one. It comes with a beefy SD and two beefy machines on it's aid, what else do you want out of this thing beside color accuracy? I'm not lazy to write this one, but it's just that there's not much for me to talk about this beside its badassery as a nightmare for Dynasty Warriors players, including me.

And I think that's all for this short review, I hope this kinda helps. As always, I'll see you next time.
